Autism Support Groups in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Where to find other autism families, peer support, and community in Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley.
Few things help more than connecting with other families who get it. Philadelphia has a well-developed network of parent support groups, regional autism organizations, and hospital-run groups. This page points to real, verifiable local and statewide resources — and to the caution that specific groups and schedules change, so confirm current details before showing up.
Autism Support Groups in Philadelphia specifically
Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley have an unusually developed support ecosystem.
The Autism Society Greater Philadelphia serves the five-county southeast region (Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties) — established in 1977 by parents, it offers advocacy, information, and community.
ASERT — Pennsylvania's statewide autism resource network, funded by the Bureau of Autism Services — maintains a searchable directory of support groups across the state at PAAutism.org, plus a toll-free line (1-877-231-4244). This is one of the best ways to find a current, local group.
CHOP runs support groups for families of children diagnosed and followed at CHOP, including virtual formats.
Philadelphia Parent Support Groups (PPSG) are grassroots, family-organized groups for families of individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism, meeting at various times and locations across the city.
Because groups form, move, and change schedules, we point you to these hubs (ASERT's directory especially) rather than listing specific meeting times that may be out of date.
