What you get each week
Every email contains some mix of:
- A practical topic, explained clearly. How the autism evaluation process works in your state. What an IEP meeting actually involves. How to read your Medicaid waiver paperwork. The kind of explainer we wish someone had given us earlier.
- Local resource updates for the cities and states we cover — new programs, changes in wait times, services you may not know exist.
- A short list of resources worth your time — articles, research, tools, or organizations we trust. Not everything happening in autism news. Just the things actually useful.
- Reader questions, answered occasionally. When the same question shows up from multiple readers, we write through it in the next issue.
Each email is short enough to read with a cup of coffee. Five to seven minutes, usually.
Who it's for
Parents and caregivers of autistic kids — any age, toddlers through young adults. Newly diagnosed families, mid-journey families, experienced advocates.
Also: professionals working with autism families, autistic adults looking for resources to share, and anyone trying to stay current without doom-scrolling autism Twitter.
If that's not you, no hard feelings. Unsubscribe is one click.
What it's not
We get tired of newsletter promises that don't hold up. Here's what this isn't:
- It's not daily. One email a week. That's it.
- It's not a sales funnel. We don't have a course to sell you, a coaching package to upsell, or a membership tier. We may eventually accept advertising or sponsorships — when we do, we'll label them clearly.
- It's not generic. We write specifically for autism families, with language and positions that respect the autism community. More on that on our editorial guidelines page.
- It's not endless. Want out? One click. We won't chase you with win-back emails or discount codes.
Who writes it
Raising Brilliance is written by an editorial team with professional backgrounds in special education and autism services delivery. We're not clinicians, but we've spent careers inside the systems autism families have to navigate. More about us.
Every issue is reviewed before it goes out — by our editorial team, and by sensitivity readers from our autism community editorial network.
