Autism Resources in Kansas
A statewide guide to autism services across Kansas — for families in Wichita, Overland Park, Kansas City (Kansas side), Topeka, Lawrence, and communities across the state.
Kansas has some genuine strengths — KanCare (Kansas Medicaid) covers ABA for children under 21 through the EPSDT benefit with no annual dollar cap, and Infant-Toddler Services (tiny-k) provides early intervention statewide. Kansas also has real constraints — the HCBS Autism (AU) waiver is small, time-limited, and carries a waitlist, and provider availability thins out away from the metro areas. One important wrinkle: Overland Park and the rest of Johnson County sit on the Kansas side of the Kansas City metro, which straddles the Kansas–Missouri line.
This page walks through how the pieces fit together and where the gaps are.
