Raising Brilliance

Autism Resources in Michigan

A statewide guide to autism services across Michigan — for families in Detroit, Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids, and communities across the state.

Michigan has a relatively strong autism-services foundation compared with many states: a Medicaid Autism Benefit that covers ABA for eligible children, a state insurance mandate requiring most private plans to cover autism treatment, and the University of Michigan as a major academic anchor. Services are delivered through a network of Community Mental Health (CMH) agencies and Prepaid Inpatient Health Plans, which is worth understanding early.

This page walks through how the pieces fit together and where the gaps are.

We've written this as a starting point. Michigan readers who know specifics better than we do — tell us what we got wrong or missed.
