Autism Resources in Montana
A statewide guide to autism services across Montana — for families in Billings, Missoula, Great Falls, Bozeman, Helena, Kalispell, and the many small towns and reservation communities in between.
Montana is one of the least densely populated states in the country, and that shapes almost everything about autism services here. Specialty providers cluster in a handful of cities, families in rural areas and on the state's seven reservations often drive hours for evaluation and therapy, and telehealth has become a genuine lifeline rather than a convenience. Montana does have real assets — the Milestones early intervention program, a statewide autism resource network anchored at the University of Montana, and a Medicaid waiver that covers ABA — but it also has one of the longest waiver waiting lists in the country.
This page walks through how the pieces fit together and where the gaps are — honestly.
