Autism resources in Detroit: a starting point for families
If your child was just diagnosed, or you are still waiting on an evaluation, Metro Detroit can feel like a lot of doors with no clear map. There are large health systems, a public behavioral health network, dozens of ABA providers, and school programs spread across Wayne County and the suburbs. We have written this as a starting point, not the last word. Michigan has one of the more robust Medicaid autism benefits in the country, and Detroit sits at the center of it — but the way you actually reach services here is a little different than in many states, and knowing that up front saves a lot of frustration.
