JCC Day Camps Special Needs Enrichment Programs

Inclusive and special-needs day camp

Regional — at The J in West Bloomfield, roughly 30 minutes northwest of Detroit, on a wooded camp campus. Programs run from an inclusion track for ages 5-14, paired with an inclusion counselor, through teen and young adult programs. Sessions sell out and new campers must complete an interview with the camp leadership team, so start early.

OUCARES Summer Camps (Oakland University Center for Autism)

University-run autism day camps

Regional — day camps on Oakland University's campus in Rochester, about 35 minutes north of Detroit, for people on the spectrum from age 3 through adults, with limited scholarships available. Tracks include Pee Wee, STEAM, Teen Life Skills and Employability Skills. Heads up: the camp webpage has carried stale dates, so call to confirm current sessions and pricing.

Living and Learning Enrichment Center Summer Camps

Nonprofit day camp for teens and young adults

Regional — a 12-acre campus in Northville, roughly 30 minutes west of Detroit, for campers with autism and developmental disabilities ages 11 and up. Eight themed weeks run Monday-Thursday from late June through mid-August, split into two tracks by support level. New campers must complete an intake appointment before registering, and spots fill quickly.
