Occupational therapy in Detroit: everyday skills and sensory support

Occupational therapy helps autistic children with the practical business of daily life — from handwriting and dressing to managing an overwhelming sensory world. Metro Detroit has OT available through hospitals, private clinics, and schools. This page explains where to find it, how it is funded, and what good OT looks like.

MetroEHS Pediatric Therapy – Detroit

Pediatric OT within a multidisciplinary clinic

In-city OT on Collingwood Street on Detroit's west side, covering sensory processing, fine and gross motor skills, reflex integration, daily living skills and feeding. Being in the same clinic as speech and ABA can simplify scheduling if your child needs several therapies. Ask whether your specific therapist has sensory integration training, since that varies by clinician.
