Getting an Autism Diagnosis in Charlotte, North Carolina

An autism evaluation is the doorway to most services in North Carolina, from Medicaid-funded therapy to school supports. In Charlotte you have real options, but waitlists for evaluations can be long.

This page lists local places that evaluate for autism and explains what to do while you wait. Importantly, you do not need a diagnosis to start North Carolina's free early intervention program for young children.

A diagnosis is a starting point, not a label to fear. It is what unlocks funding and tailored support. See the Charlotte hub and our guides for next steps.
