Speech-language therapy is one of the most widely used and well-evidenced supports for autistic children. In Columbus it's available through Nationwide Children's, private clinics, Help Me Grow (for the youngest children), and schools. Covers speech, language, play and social skills, and can be paid for through the Jon Peterson and Autism Scholarship programs for children 3 and up. A useful option if your child did not qualify for an IEP or Help Me Grow but still has gaps.
Visit siteOutpatient speech clinics at the main campus plus Close To Home centers across the metro — Dublin, Hilliard, Grove City, East Columbus, Westerville, Lewis Center and Marysville — and at the Child Development and Autism Centers in Westerville. Also runs an AAC program and a social-communication program. Ask which site has the shortest wait, since it varies considerably by location.
