New Haven has two long-established autism organizations that serve opposite ends of the age range, and confusing them wastes a lot of family time. Benhaven works with school-age students. Chapel Haven Schleifer Center, founded in 1972 in Westville, works with adults 18 and over on transition and independent living. Connecticut has no voucher - but districts fund outplacement to approved programs, which is the route that matters here.
