Autism Schools & Special Education

Most autistic students in the US are educated in public schools with support through an IEP - in a general classroom with services, a resource room, or a specialized program, depending on their needs. Some families choose a private autism-focused school for smaller classes and specialized staff. There is no single best setting; the right one depends on your child and often changes as they grow. What matters most is a school that understands autism, communicates with you, and adjusts the plan when something is not working.
