Autism Schools & Special Education in Newark

New Jersey does something most states do not: it approves private special-education schools and lets districts place - and pay for - students in them. That system, plus Newark's own Branch Brook School dedicated entirely to autistic elementary students, means Newark families have more real options than the raw school ratings suggest. The catch is that access runs through the IEP, not through a checkbook.
