Autism Schools & Special Education in Joliet

Illinois works differently from most states, and it works in your favor: when a district cannot serve a student appropriately, it funds a placement at an ISBE-approved nonpublic therapeutic day school. Joliet Public Schools District 86 runs its own autism programs at three buildings, and the Chicagoland area has one of the densest networks of therapeutic day schools in the country. What Illinois does not have is a voucher - and here that matters less than you would think.
