Autism Support Groups in Savannah, Georgia

Savannah has an active local autism community for its size, plus strong statewide organizations.

Local groups. The Lowcountry Autism Resource and Support Group meets monthly at the Kicklighter Resource Center in Savannah, facilitated by local professionals, and focuses on resources and support for families affected by autism. Newer, informal groups also form around the area — a Savannah mom launched a support group for moms of autistic children in 2025 — so it's worth asking your child's therapists and school what's currently active.

Statewide organizations. Parent to Parent of Georgia is the state's federally funded parent center, offering navigation, IEP help, and family matching across Georgia. The Autism Society of Georgia connects families to resources and community statewide. Both serve coastal families remotely and sometimes in person.

Provider- and school-based groups. Some ABA and therapy providers, and the Savannah-Chatham County school system, run or can point you to parent groups and workshops. Ask your child's team.

Online. Georgia- and Savannah-area Facebook groups are active and fill in between in-person meetings.
