Autism Resources in Augusta, Georgia
Augusta is Georgia's second-largest city and the medical hub of the CSRA (Central Savannah River Area), anchored by Augusta University / Medical College of Georgia and the Children's Hospital of Georgia. That gives local families more capacity than most of the state outside metro Atlanta — pediatric psychiatry, speech, and occupational therapy under one academic system, plus a solid set of private ABA and therapy providers. Even so, specialty autism capacity is thinner here than in Atlanta, and for complex evaluations or long waits, some families travel to the Marcus Autism Center. This guide walks through diagnosis, therapy, schools, community, and how funding through Ava's Law, Medicaid, and the Katie Beckett pathway works.
