Camp SkyWild

Overnight camp for autistic kids and their siblings

Ann Arbor-based nonprofit running a one-week overnight session at North Star Reach in Pinckney, about 25 minutes northwest of town. The Spectrum Program serves ages 7-17 at a 2:1 camper-to-staff ratio, with separate sibling and teen tracks. Fees run into the four figures and scholarships are available.

Living and Learning Enrichment Center — Summer Camp

Day camp for teens and young adults with autism

Regional — about 30 minutes east in Northville. Eight themed weeks, Monday-Thursday from late June through mid-August, for ages 11 and up on a 12-acre campus, split into two tiers by support level. New campers must complete an intake appointment before registering, so start that early.

Ann Arbor Rec & Ed — Adapted Programs

Public adapted recreation programs

Rec & Ed has run adapted programs for children and adults with disabilities since the 1970s, though these seasons are fall, winter, and spring rather than summer. Their general summer camps are open to kids with disabilities, and families needing a one-on-one aide should notify Rec & Ed at least three weeks ahead. Need-based scholarships are available for district residents.
