Autism support groups in Ann Arbor: finding your people

Washtenaw Association for Community Advocacy

Local nonprofit disability advocacy and family support

Arc chapter on N. Main Street, started by Ann Arbor parents in 1949 and still the county's main intellectual and developmental disability advocacy organization. They help families with IEPs, the 18-26 transition, person-centered planning, and navigating SSI, Medicaid, and the Michigan Family Support Subsidy. Membership is a paid tier, so ask what is open to non-members.

Statewide navigator service and resource directory

Statewide navigator service, based in Southfield, that pairs families with a person who helps sort out diagnosis, insurance, school, and provider options at no charge. Their directory filters providers by county, including a Washtenaw listing. Useful as a starting point rather than a peer support group.
